In the year 2000 a classic showdown took place between the Northwestern Wild cats and the Michigan wolverines. Was 7-0 coming into the game and was expecting nothing short of a blow out against this mediocre team. Throughout the game Northwestern, running the spread offense, continued to surprise the entire nation with their run and gun scheme as the two teams traded blows with the whole game.

In the end Northwestern eventually marched the field for a final time delivering a fatal blow to Michigan on a slant (pass route) for a touchdown which put Michigan in a very tough spot. Michigan then missed a field goal, there last chance to win, and sealed their fate as Northwestern pulled off the unthinkable victory in this historic game.
