One of the more common offenses besides the spread is whats know as the I-formation offense.

In the Spread Offense the main threat is pass where receivers run to the open spots in the defense and gets them off balanced. An option play or run can also be thrown in making the offense very unpredictable which is the strong-suit that this offense carries.
On the contrary the I-formation is a run based offense that is more in your face and is not very hard to predict. Often times the defense will stack more players in the “box” which is the area near to the like of scrimmage, in doing this the intend to stop the run coming right at them.
